The operating system that controls a mobile i.e similar in principle to an
operating system such as linux or windows that controls a desktop computer is
known as mobile operating system (Mobile OS) , a mobile platform or a handheld
operating system. Now a days they deals with different input methods, broadband
which are wireless and mobile multimedia formats.

The importance of mobile devices are increasing day by day which creates a competition between technology giants as apple, nokia and Microsoft . however tech firms which is in the lead pack of market is symbian specially in PDA phones and smartphones. Significant firms which are in mobile firms are ericsson, research in motion and palm. A linux based open source alliance formed by google in November 2007 which increase consumer awareness of the growing mobile platform.
